ASH ARMENTA
ARTIST// PRINTMAKER// COLLABORATIVE LITHOGRAPHER

Ash Armenta is an artist from California working in Madison, Wisconsin. They are currently working with the Madison Arts Commission and the City of Madison in creating a permanent public installation at the Madison Public Market opening 2025.
They hold a BA in printmaking from UC Santa Cruz and
concluded the two year program at Tamarind Institute receiving the title of Tamarind Master Printer in 2017. The program included several collaborations with artists such as Matt Shlian, Rashaad Newsome, Nicola Lopez, and Nina Elder.
Ash then earned a full scholarship to attend UW-Madison where they received both a Masters of Arts '21 (MA) and a Master of Fine Arts '22 (MFA) degrees.
Ash currently teaches as a Printmaking/ Art lecturer at
UW-Madison. In addition to their fine art studio practice, Ash is a tattoo artist with a professional independent studio and has been working in the industry for four years. Ash's tattoos borrow heavily from their printmaking technical knowledge in etching and engraving design principles.
Ash has been enjoying partnering with collaborators like the Museum of Art and History Santa Cruz, the Olbrich Botanical Gardens and the City of Madison -to install, exhibit, and share large scale artwork with the community. They are open to receiving calls/ project proposals for Fall/ Winter 2025 and beyond.
